No, am not gonna sing praises about these two shows. I don’t know anything about these shows except for the fact that one show has a character, Pandi, who resembles my friend, Jayaraj, and another has an extremely large headed dance judge who constantly refers to himself in the third person.
Let me show why I am so frustrated.
Night before exam, I call up a friend.
Me: Macha, tell me some important questions in 4th and 5th unit da.
Him: Listen, can you call me after 20 minutes. I am watching Jodi No.1.
Me: But…
Him: Ok bye.
(After half an hour)
Me: Macha, important questions da?
Him: Macha, macha. Did you see Irfan and Monisha dance.
(Atleast, that is what I think he said)
Me: No, because I am occupied with more important things, like passing in tomorrows exam.
Him: Macha, it was super da. Chance eh ile.
Me: Listen.. I cant think of anything else that I care less about right now.
Him(Continues): You missed it da. Cha! Catch the repeat show atleast.
Me: But, important ..
Ah, who cares! I missed Irfan and Monisha’s dance.
I never thought I would say this, but Simbu acted brilliantly. Really! The little farce he and another participant played(Prithivraj, was it?). Excellent. Cheap publicity stunt! And what’s more? He had all the people crying. Just when I thought Tamil Nadu people couldn’t be more gullible, this happens!
Just when I think my classmates have finally grown up…
C1: Macha, why did they fight yesterday?
C2: Don’t know da. Think he said something about his friend.
Me: Why da? What happened? Who fought?
C1: Ennada? You didn’t see KKK yesterday?
Me: What?
C2: You don’t know what is KKK?
(he gives me a cheap stare that tells me ‘Please go hang yourself’)
Me: No.
C2: Kana Kaanum Kaalangal da. See, there are two groups of friends in a school. They had a fight yesterday because..
Me: The only thing I care less about right now is Irfan and Monisha’s dance.
C1: Oh yeah , Irfan and Monisha. Did you see their dance? It was superb!
Oh, C’mon!!!
Where are all the men? The men who watched sports, who watched mafia and gangster movies over and over again,and talked about girls all day long? I think it’s ok when you watch these shows and keep your mouth shut (at least pretend to me a man), but watching them, and discussing them like ‘maamis’ , that’s where I draw the line! And God bless these two people,Irfan and Monisha(whoever they are).
I hate this jodi no.1 show… are people so jobless to see these ###### people dance! and they don even dance properly..
they do everythin to popularize the show..SIMBU cries…even these audience cry sometimes..I have been wondering wats so special in that show more than a couple of people (some of them who r not couples really) enjoy themselves…or I shd say satisfy themselves..(anyways i like that gal monisha
